**NDT Inspector (IOC Labrador)**
The NDT inspector is responsible for executing NDT work using rope access. This opportunity is located in Labrador, including a 2 week on & 2 week off rotation schedule.
**Main Duties**:
- Set up and calibrate nondestructive testing equipment and ensure that all records are current
- Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects)
- Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
- Organize and report test results.
- Perform visual inspections, magnetic particle inspections and UT thickness readings by using rope access method.
- Reading and interpreting drawings.
- Develop detailed inspection reports, which clearly indicate the extent of repairs required.
- In conjunction with engineering, develop repair plans.
- Follow and maintain Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
**Other Duties**:
- Perform other duties as required.
**Quality Management System Responsibilities**:
- Carry out work in accordance with established procedure.
- Report failures to meet requirements (nonconformances) and identify opportunities to improve.
- All personnel are responsible for complying with regulatory and corporate HSE and Quality requirements, including those related to product and the protection of people and the environment.
**HSE Duties**:
- Carry out work in a safe manner, identify hazards and take personal responsibility for safety.
- Take reasonable care to protect the health and safety of themselves and other workers who are working or present on the site.
- Cooperate with the employer for the purpose of protecting the health and safety of themselves and everyone else present on the work site.
- Workers have the right to refuse work if the worker believes that imminent danger exists.
- The worker must discuss the concerns with the employer and provide reasons that the work was refused.
- Execute work only if competent to safely do so.
- Work closely with Supervisors to advise if any work activities place the worker or others at risk of injury.
- Attend and participate in safety-related training, including pre-job task instruction. Attend daily and weekly safety meetings.
- Make positive interventions when observing any unsafe working conditions, practices, or incidents.
- Never operate a piece of equipment in a place or way that puts any person at risk.
- Take immediate corrective action when necessary to eliminate potential hazards to personnel, equipment, buildings, or the site.
- Work in compliance with the provisions of the DF Barnes Safety Program, applicable legislation, and Safe Work Practices.
- Always inspect all equipment and tools before each use.
- Use the required equipment, protective devices, and clothing.
- Report to the immediate Supervisor the absence of, or defect in, any equipment or protective device if the situation may endanger personnel or passersby.
- Report to the immediate Supervisor or Safety Supervisor any contravention of the Health and Safety Act or governing regulations, or the existence of any hazard the worker is aware of.
- Report all incidents (accidents or near-misses) to the immediate Supervisor. Obtain first aid attention on the site as required. Report any medical attention received after leaving the work site to the immediate Supervisor and/or Safety personnel.
- Complete a Job Hazard Assessment Card (JHA Card) for all work.
- Where required, actively participate in the development of a Hazardous Work Permit (DFB-COR-HSE-FM-045) and understand the risks, hazards, and controls listed on the permit.
- Actively participate in Incident/Injury Investigations where required.
- Be honest and forthcoming when giving information relating to workplace health and safety.
