**Job Description**:
We currently have a great opportunity within our Manufacturing & Operations team as a Master Scheduler in Ottawa. This opportunity might be right for you if you are looking to work in a team oriented manufacturing environment where you can act as the main liaison between many different teams including Program Management, Engineering, Contracts and all functional areas in the Manufacturing Division. You will produce and maintain a Master Production Schedule consistent with the Production Plan, develop and maintain business area forecasts and gain a thorough understanding of the critical manufacturing resources, monitoring capacity throughout the cycle.

Other areas of responsibility will include:

- Responds to Quotation Requests (QR's) by preparing functional CCP's (Company Program Plans) and extracting relevant information from appropriate departments. Applies the relevant "What if scenario's" of simulations to assure that deliveries are attainable (if the bid is successful). Uses QR Template to assure all QR's have considered all equations.
- Coordinates Manufacturing delivery commitments to Program Management and Contracts.
- Analyses Customer Demand and assures that all items relevant to the manufacturing deliverables are correct, and assures that delivery dates are attainable. Inputs orders into the Order Management System.
- Monitors and controls change to Order Policies, and Lead Time Policies.
- Adheres to and develops evolving GD Canada’s Master Productions Scheduling Policies and Divisional Standard Procedure for Master Scheduling.
- Alerts Management of potential plan delinquencies. Applies the appropriate capacity planning (rough cut) to assure long term resource problems are exposed.
- Attends or instructs Production Controller to attend Configuration Control Board to assure ECO's are correctly classified and written. Analyzes with Production Controller, the impact of Class I ECO's on the MPS commitment.
- Working with Manufacturing Ops Management and Planning Staff, prepares and provides schedules for project start up and monitors and reports progress of all relevant supporting elements such as test equipment programs and hardware, processes, fixtures and etc.
- Monitors Master Production Schedules for potential slippage's, problems that are liable to impact final delivery of product through system inquiries and close communication with Material Planner and Production Controller.
- Co-ordinates recovery plans when necessary. Calls and chairs formal meetings to coordinate activities and resolve problems that have evolved beyond Material Planner and Production Controller mandate.
- Maintains minutes and monitors resultant action items.
- Prepares and distributes regular Project Status Summaries for relevant projects, if required. Attends Project Review and Production Reviews as required.
- Work directly with FG shipper(s) to assure that goods are shipped and issued on a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintains and presents relevant performance measures within the Manufacturing Organization.
- Acts as backup for other Master Production Schedulers when required.

Basic Qualifications:
Education & Experience:

- Degree or diploma in Business Administration or related discipline
- CPIM, CIRM and materials management courses an asset
- Over 5 years experience in Production Control Planning, scheduling and monitoring with an MRPII system
- Communicate and work with all levels of management.
- Experienced in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project and ERP
- Knowledge of the production and materials processes including their capabilities and limitations, lead times and order policies.
- Strong Problem Solving and Communication Skills
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
