Position Summary
The FirstOntario Arts Centre Milton is an interdisciplinary arts venue that builds community and supports art and culture as part of everyday life in Milton. We host a variety of shows and events, gallery exhibitions and art programs and workshops for individuals of all ages and artistic abilities. Reporting to the Coordinator, Cultural Services (Client Services), this part-time position is responsible for providing direction and information as well as ensuring the comfort and safety of guests at the FirstOntario Arts Centre. The Theatre Attendant will be an integral part of the Culture Services team and provide top-notch service to all of our visitors and clients where our goal is to exceed expectations. The hours for this position are primarily on evenings and weekends.
Major Job Responsibilities- Welcome visitors, provide information and direction- Monitor theatre door access and scan tickets for entry- Direct patrons to seats and provide assistance as required- Ensure the safety and comfort of patrons, addressing any needs proactively- Knowledgeable of Site Safety Plans and able to assist Duty Supervisor in an emergency situation- Monitor capacity during general admission performance/event, and allow access based on capacity- Check assigned section for cleanliness and pick up personal belongings that have been left behind
Education & Experience- 1-2 years of customer service experience preferred- Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities while dealing with interruptions- An enthusiasm for the arts
