**Job Summary**:
As a **Surgery Technician** for our **Veterinary Services** team in **Senneville**, you will be responsible to perform technical, perioperative, and surgical activities while maintaining aseptic and sterile conditions throughout the procedures. Your contribution will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.
In this role, primary **responsibilities**include:
- Offer excellent animal care via all procedures performed;
- Preoperative tasks including subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, shaving and aseptic preparation of animals for surgery;
- Surgery room assistance for other surgeons and technicians performing procedures;
- Maintenance of the surgical suites;
- Anesthetizing animals and monitoring. Post operative procedures including anesthesia recovery, surgical site observations, clinical observations, and subsequent follow-ups;
- Read and follow standard operating procedures and procedure notes in order to assure optimal preparation and conduct for activities.
**Key Elements**:
We are looking for the following **minimum qualifications** for this role:
- College Diploma in Animal Health, Bioecology or any other discipline related to Animal science (newly graduated technicians are welcome, we will train you and prepare you for everything you need);
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes and good stress management;
- Good dexterity and attention to details;
- Demonstrate excellent team work efforts and communication;
- Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.).
- Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company._
**Role Specific Information**:
- **Location**: 22022 route Transcanadienne, Senneville, QC, H9X 1C1;
- ** Transportation**: We offer a free shuttle service from the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue train station and John Abbott College to the Senneville site. Free parking. Electric vehicle charging station;
- ** Salary**: Starting at 21.50$/hrs. Opportunity to start at higher level and higher salary with specific research experience;
- Annual bonus based on performance;
- ** Schedule**: Mostly daytime Monday to Friday. Depending on the needs, infrequent weekend work and overtime may be requested;
- Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week.
