- Position Scope / Impact of Error:_

Accountable to the Site Supervisor, the Janitor will be primarily responsible for overseeing the cleaning and sanitizing of the offices, kitchens, meeting room, locker rooms, lunchroom and washrooms, as well as certain areas within the site facilities (Plant/House).

Impact of recommendations, decisions and actions made by the incumbent: Moderate to High
- Position Authority:_

The Janitor makes recommendations to the Site Supervisor (or designate) who makes the final decision.
- Position Overview:_

The incumbent is detail-oriented, flexible and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises. The Janitor will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, kitchen and dining room and public areas, as well as certain areas within the site facilities (Plant/House).

This role may be required to work on holidays and weekends from time to time.
- Specific Accountabilities:_- Perform general clean-up of all areas of the building as directed;- Wash windows, and interior walls;- Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs;- Empty trash cans and other waste containers;- Complete non-routine cleaning as required by supervisor;- Remove garbage and recycling daily and prepare bins for weekly pick-up;- Handle emergency cleaning and upkeep requests;- Ensure rooms are maintained and fully equipped;- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.- Carry out other duties as assigned.
- Requisite Qualifications:_- Previous custodial experience is an asset;- Knowledge of use of cleaning chemicals and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment;- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components;- Willingness to work early morning or evening shifts;- Ability to work well under mínimal supervision;- Capacity to take direction;- Strong attention to detail; Physically capable of lifting and moving objects up to 30 pounds as necessary.
