As an Associate, you will have the opportunity to work alongside LITs across a diverse range of industries and professional engagements and appointments.

You will be working closely with companies across a variety of industries to help businesses navigate their restructuring process and create a lasting positive impact on the organization.

Your involvement with these projects will typically include:

- Liaise with stakeholders to administer insolvency proceedings in accordance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act
- Processing official documentation in a timely manner with the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy
- Completing legal forms for the commencement of insolvency proceedings
- Work with team members to resolve issues on engagements
- Provide client service/support when required.
- Resolving technical issues and seeking assistance from Managers and Trustees for complex issues
- Demonstrating flexibility to the demands of debtors, and Managers/Trustees
- Assist file management and file destruction process
- Analyzing company financial statements.
- Forecasting cash flows and managing working capital (e.g. 13-week cash flow forecast modeling).
- Assessing key business operational performance drivers.
- Developing and sensitizing business plans to aid management.
- Developing / reviewing cost reduction initiatives and execution milestones.
- Conducting liquidation analyses.
- Preparing and editing reports, proposals, marketing materials, and other communications (strong proofing and formatting skills are essential)
- Preparing and submitting time and expense reports
- Courier, mail, scanning, electronic filing and database management
- Other duties as required

Working as a partner to our clients you will rely on your ability to communicate, and problem solve, you will present your analyses and insights to a variety of audiences. You will build rapport and develop relationships with clients, legal counsel and investment bankers, and be relied on to proactively communicate with your team, external parties and client leadership.

Qualifications:

- Post secondary degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, or other related analytical fields.
- Willingness to enroll in and complete the Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professionals program.
- Advanced proficiency utilizing Excel and PowerPoint.
- Able to function well under pressure and work independently while understanding when to ask for guidance.
- Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to think through alternative solutions.
- Efficient business writer and effective communicator.
- Excellent word processing skills with high attention to accuracy and detail.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook & Excel
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn on the job
- Flexible and comfortable in a fast-changing environment
- Works well in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills; confident contacting clients
- Willingness to travel
