Caretaker/cleaner

Part-Time Cathedral Parish Caretaker The Sacred Heart Cathedral Parish, Prince Albert is looking for a Parish Caretaker who will be responsible for the maintenance and up-keep of The Sacred Heart Cathedral Church facility and its grounds. This is a part-time position that reports directly to the Parish Priest. Competitive wages offered based on experience and skills Responsibilities include:

- Performance of minor repair and preventative maintenance throughout the Church building, its equipment and grounds.
- Clean and handle basic repairs for all public-facing areas area of the church, including the sanctuary, bathrooms and meeting areas.
- Clean and maintain the Church grounds including snow removal.
- Checking Boilers and Electrical breakers, ensure furnace and storage rooms are kept clean and tidy, perform preventative maintenance.
- Checking for Leaking taps, running and/or plugged toilets. Unplug toilets as required, fix if necessary and fix taps as required.
- Inspects grounds and ensure garbage is picked up. Attend to any required outside repairs.
- Set up/take down tables and chairs for meetings, funeral lunches and any other functions as scheduled
- Order janitorial supplies as required; if repair cannot be completed internally, arrange for appropriate repairs to be completed. Maintain a log book of repairs completed including date, problem, solution, outside repair people used etc.
- Vacuum carpets throughout the church, weekly or more often as needed. Required Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

- Knowledge of cleaning methods, products, and the use of modern caretaking equipment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Previous experience in caretaking is an asset
- Knowledge of the Trades is an asset
- Valid Fireman’s Certificate is an asset.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15 per week

**Salary**: $1,200.00-$1,500.00 per month

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Prince Albert, SK: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Cleaning: 1 year (preferred)
- janitorial: 1 year (preferred)
