Structural Drafter/Technologist

WBA Architects and Engineers is looking for a Structural Drafter/Technologist to join our Vaughan team.

The position is for our small to mid-scale project team, with responsibilities that include the following:

- Work closely with engineers and designers to create Revit and CAD models and drawing sets - documentation and archiving.
- Gatekeeper/responsible for all incoming and outgoing models and drawing information.
- Work across disciplines to ensure an overall design fit together and satisfies each discipline’s individual requirements.
- Troubleshoot all problems that arise in a rapidly changing digital coordination environment.
- Develop engineer’s concepts and sketches into accurate models and drawings, through direct communications.
- Lead project BIM Kick-Off meetings (Create agendas and distribute to all project team members).
- Manage submissions and ensure proper QA/QC protocols are implemented.
- Filter highly detailed model and annotative information into, a logically organized, easy-to-read package.
- Engage in the development of office or client BIM procedures/standards and facilitate their implementation into projects.
- Work with the project team to assess project requirements, unique challenges, and team capabilities to determine appropriate BIM and technology to be utilized.
- Have a strong understanding of 3D authoring software, and a general understanding of how to model

Architectural, MEP, Structural, and Construction components.
- Perform site visits to verify existing conditions, take measurements, and develop building plans/models.

- An applicable degree or diploma in architectural or engineering technology.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Bentley infrastructures
- Experience working as a lead drafter and/or managing a team of BIM modelers.
- Familiarity with Digital Projects and coordination software and suites.
- Knowledge of other 3D modeling, parametric, coordination, or fabrication tools.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in teams consisting of people with varying backgrounds.
- Ability to multi-task and balance competing priorities.
- Ability to read construction drawings (multi-disciplines) as well as exposure to construction sites is preferred.

**Salary**: $20.15-$42.49 per hour
