**Job Summary**:
Reporting directly to the Human Resources department, this role oversees the accounting practices for the company payroll. The key responsibilities of this position include flawlessly executing the payroll process for all assigned employee groups, verifying hours worked, pay rates, and managing the processing of ‘live’ paychecks as required. In addition, this position must keep payroll records up to date for employer and will be responsible for reporting potential time fraud. This position requires well organized and methodical accounting practices and actively assist employees with any payroll related concerns and questions they might have.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide information and respond to questions from respective HRBPs as we together assist employees with payroll concerns and related matters.
- Manage electronic timekeeping systems through UKG our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) or manual collect and review timesheets when required.
- Calculate payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions.
- Prepare and issue earnings statements.
- Issue paychecks when required and assist HRBP in ensuring their respective production and greenhouse operations employees manage direct deposits for all employees.
- Maintaining employee compensation and benefit records.
- Coordinating with the HR department to ensure correct employee data is reflected in HRIS.
- Providing administrative assistance to the accounting department when required re) payroll audits, etc.
- Act as an UKG System Administrator.
- Other core expectations as defined by the company.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
- Two or more (2+) years of experience working in a payroll office.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and automated Payroll Software Platforms, preferably UKG, Kronos, etc.
- Proficient with both CAD & US payroll statutory regulations.
- Strong mathematic skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Knowledge of UKG Pro & Dimensions is considered an asset.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations related to payroll administration.
- Able to prioritize and multitask effectively.

**Work Environment**:

- Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; flexibility is required.
- Role requires the ability to effectively communicate with all key stakeholders from hourly colleagues to company executives.
- Role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Specific vision capabilities required; the employee is to work in front of a computer, sitting and/or standing for prolonged periods is required.
