**Your Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Visitor Safety Lead the Head Patroller is responsible for ensuring the ongoing safety of our guests. An essential component of this position is to foster enthusiasm and a sense of pride within the Patrol department. The responsibilities of the position include:
- Effectively coordinate a ski slope and multi-use trail system risk reduction program, which includes managing hazards, identifying trends and documentation
- Manage the recruitment, selection, and training of ski patrollers
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the ski patrol department, including staff and volunteer scheduling
- Effectively coordinate rescue and first aid coverage for events when required
- Manage the purchase of first aid and rescue supplies
- Support ski lift evacuation training
- Assist with the management of the CH radio communication system.
- Assist with guest concerns and maintain a safe and attractive guest environment
- Demonstrate a high level of enthusiasm and promote a positive work environment
- Ensure Conservation Halton policies and procedures are adhered to
**Your Qualifications**:
- Able to deliver emergency services in stressful situations and all-weather conditions
- Must possess a good understanding of ski industry standards and generally accepted practices
- Must possess a good understanding of high angle rescue procedures and equipment
- Must understand generally accepted risk management policies and procedures
- Must be at least an advanced skier / snowboarder
- Previous Patrol supervisory experience is required
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations and WHMIS is required
- A good understanding of radio communications technology is an asset
- Excellent organizational and planning skills supported by solid time-management skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds, stand, and walk for long periods of time
- A valid Ontario Drivers Licence, minimum Class “G”, with a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract is required
- A valid ATV Operators license is required
- Competent in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Windows and Office 365
