Seniors’ Event and Marketing Co-ordinator

We are looking for an **Event and Marketing Co-ordinator** to manage our upcoming Positive Living: Seniors - Empowerment Program. This event is funded by a government grant New Horizons for Seniors Program (NHSP) and consists of 6 monthly events.

As our Event and Marketing Co-ordinator, you’ll be taking on the essential tasks related to the successful implementation of this project. You will:

- Recruit and co-ordinate keynote speakers on the following potential topics:

- 2 events addressing social isolation
- 2 events addressing improving mental health
- 2 events addressing the prevention of senior financial abuse
- Co-ordinate all aspects of event, including speakers and volunteers
- Day of event online or in-person presence to implement online/in-person event
- Develop a marketing plan based on budget
- Execute marketing plan to have an audience of over 375 seniors and 550 participants in total
- Recruit politicians to attend event

This is a contract position that lasts the duration of the project. There is a set budget as funding for this role is based on a government grant.

Duration of Contract
- September 2023 to March 2024

Compensation
- Stipend of $2,500 for 125 hours of work during time of contract - $20 per hour. 18 hours a month for 7 months.

Work Environment
- Work from home
- In-person presence for in-person events

Experience
- Experience leading a seniors’ speaker event or related event
- Experience marketing to seniors
- Proven track record to recruit 375 seniors and 550 participants in total for past events

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience co-ordinating seniors events
- Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Must be flexible to mostly work from home
- Diploma in event co-ordination is an asset

Start September 2023.

We are a Canadian registered charity that focuses on teaching stress management and meditation to the public. We service primarily seniors. We have a strong focus on community service in our meditation teaching activities and have taught at the Bernard Betel Centre (Seniors’ Centre), North York Women's Shelter, 416 Community Support for Women, Ryerson University - Internationally Trained Medical Doctors (ITMD) Bridging Program, Nexus Youth in Mississauga (Youth Drop-in Counselling Centre), Ryerson University MBA program and the Canadian National Institute for the Blind - to list a few.
