**YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE**:
Reporting to the Production Metallurgist, you will be part of the Process Plant Department. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.
- Work in a safe and environmentally responsible way;
- Responsible for refinery operations by monitoring the electrowinning process, cleaning the electrowinning cells and overseeing gold pouring activities;
- Perform refinery tasks when refiner is unavailable or needs assistance;
- Prepare and perform sampling for mid-month and month-end inventory;
- Inspect and monitor the process samplers;
- Perform process surveys on the crushing, grinding, leach, CIP, stripping circuits for KPI validation;
- Validate the accuracy of equipment measurements, identify maintenance needs for optimal process performance, and enter worker orders;
- Monitor performance to the budget and control costs;
- Provides daily technical support to mill & lab operations;
- Assists with the development and implementation of lab and plant test programs for improving mill performance and new plan practices;
- Prepares reports on departmental projects, consumables, metallurgical balances and production;
- Interacts with mill operations and mill maintenance to maximize mill efficiencies in a safe and environmentally sensitive manner;
- Provide daily technical support to troubleshoot and correct mill metallurgical problems;
- May fill in for Senior Metallurgist in their absence;
- Provide input into process control system development, maintenance, and optimization;
- Responsible for mill metallurgical accounting including daily, monthly, and annual metal balances;
- Assists with monitoring gold shipments, assay exchange and refinery settlements;
- Interacts with geology, mine planning, and ore control personnel to define metallurgical characteristics of ore reserves and to optimize throughput and recovery;
- Has overall responsibility for mill sampling systems and practices;
- Stay current with new developments in metallurgical technology and plant practices;
- Ensure an effective transfer of information to the cross-shift;
- Any other duties required by the Supervisor.

**WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED**
- Bachelor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field equivalent;
- Chemical or Metallurgical Technologist Diploma with 5 years experience in gold metallurgy and supervision experience in mining process plant operations;
- Detailed knowledge of all phases of gold processing including grinding and agitated leaching with cyanide, carbon absorption and regeneration, and refining;
- Superior judgment and the ability to make good decisions are essential;
- Must be able to identify the root problem, symptoms of a problem, and drive positive changes;
- Proactive, forward-thinking individual who plans and anticipates, rather than reacts;
- Strong verbal, written analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management;
- Attention to detail, a clear sense of priorities, and effective time management skills;
- Ability to consistently exercise discretion and judgment in job performance;
- Eligibility to obtain security clearance to access the refinery;
- Experience working in a multicultural environment;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team;

**Your Work Schedule**:

- 7/7 schedule, and able to modify schedules to support and lead testwork and projects.
