Carpenter

The carpenter must have strong organization and communication skills. A good understanding of rough and finish carpentry methods and techniques, refined carpentry skills and the ability to interact with subcontractors and clients.

Wages:
The carpenter’s hourly wage will based on the number of years of experience and the level of experience in conjunction with the standard industry rate.

Position responsibilities:

- Be able to perform carpentry at the highest level with mínimal direct supervision.
- Be able to understand blueprint drawings and written specifications.
- Perform rough and finish carpentry to company’s standard of quality and according to the plans and specifications.
- Be able to lay out and install stud wall framing.
- Be able to install standard wall-hung cabinetry and accessories.
- Be able to install pre-hung door units and windows.
- Be able to install interior trim, base, casing, crown molding, etc. with superior craftsmanship.
- Be able to install drywall
- Be able to do simple repairs in millwork and flooring
- Ensure jobsite safety, protection and maintenance of company tools
- Maintain a safe and clean jobsite.
- Miscellaneous other duties as required

Position requirements:

- Minimum 5 years carpentry experience
- Must be a team player - willing to work and share ideas with workmates
- Complete command of rough and finish carpentry skills
- Ability to perform work according to blueprints provided
- Good communication skills
- The ability to read and understand construction documents
- Neat appearance
- Reliable vehicle
- 44 hours per week
- Ability to perform physically demanding work on a consistent basis.
- Driver’s license and good driving record.

Tools required (minimum):

- Basic hand tools such as hammer, tape measure, speed square, apron, etc.
- Circular saw, reciprocating saw, drills
- Levels, Squares, Layout Tools, screwdrivers etc.

Job Duties:

- Reading and interpreting blueprints
- Understanding customer requirements
- Managing peers (dividing job tasks, working as a team)
- Managing or working with subcontractors
- Training apprentices and/or coworkers
- Recommending job improvements, alternative methods, etc. (problem solve)
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations (Occupational Health and Safety)
- Knowledge of woods/materials and their uses and adaptability
- Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in carpentry

Pay: $25.00-$38.00 per hour
