**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The Aquafit Fitness Instructor is responsible for planning and instructing high-quality aquatic fitness classes, as assigned by the Aquatic Manager, in a manner that promotes the safe and effective development of health and fitness for participants.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Certification in Aquafit, Water Fitness, or Group Fitness from a recognized organization (e.g., AEA, CALA, YMCA).
- Standard First Aid certification
- CPR and/or AED certification
- WHMIS certification
- Must provide a satisfactory Police Criminal Records Vulnerable Sector Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Previous experience in leading group fitness classes is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of fitness principles, exercise physiology, and nutrition.
- Knowledge of group fitness teaching strategies and the incorporation of music, tempo, cueing technique, and rhythm.
- Ability to be professional and motivate class participants.
- Knowledge of water safety and best practices for exercising in aquatic settings.
- Working knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology, and training principles.

**TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- Part-time - preset schedule (minimum 3hrs - maximum 5hrs)
- Wage: $30.00 - 33.00/ hour
