**The opportunity**:
**The qualifications and experience we’re looking for**:

- Undergraduate degree in a related discipline is required. (i.e social sciences/humanities focus)
- Master's Degree is preferred.
- Minimum of three years of directly related administrative experience is required.
- Related administrative experience in a university, government department, private agency or foundation is preferred.
- A good knowledge of the Canadian research funding landscape and University policies and procedures would be an asset.
- Project management experience would be an asset.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Must have a high degree of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and professionalism which is needed in daily contacts within the University and representatives of various external agencies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills is required.
- A well-developed knowledge of general office practices is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure required.
- Ability to synthesize information and prioritize work is necessary is required.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and follow instructions precisely is required.
- Ability to exercise independent judgement and action and demonstrate sound decision-making is required.
- Ability to adapt to changing office technology and newly implemented University procedures is required.
- Ability to adapt to changing workloads and priorities is required.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment is required.
- The ability to provide accurate information professionally, courteously and in a timely manner is required.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
- The ability to present to researchers a full range of possibilities available within a granting program and to support the development of successful submissions at the extremes of a program description is preferred.
