**Position Summary**

Under the direction of the Director of Care and/or the Director of Life Enrichment, the Supportive Care Aide provides supportive care to residents to promote the engagement, stimulation, comfort, safety and quality of life of the residents of Finlandia Village. In addition, the Supportive Care Aide is responsible to assist in leisure activities based on established objectives, goals and procedures. The Supportive Care Aide is entitled to assist in other departments as required or as directed by the Director.

**Some Key Responsibilities**
- Assist in proving emotional, physical, spiritual intellectual care for residents
- Assist with meals, eating, portering, and daily programming
- Encourage and aid in participation with life enrichment programs. This includes but is not limited to assisting to and from activities and participation in the program to aide the resident
- Maintain a clean and safe environment according to protocols. This may include light housekeeping and maintaining proper care of equipment
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**
- Completion of Secondary school
- Valid CPR certification
- Gentle Persuasive Approach considered an asset
- Experience working in a geriatric setting an asset
- Knowledge of crafts, handiwork and hands-on experience will be beneficial
- An acceptable Police Vulnerable Sector Check verified within the past six months
- 2-step TB test within the past six months

**Physical Demands**
- Standing, sitting, portering, crouching, stooping, pushing, reaching, pulling

**COVID-19 Considerations**
