***:Reporting directly to the RCMP Administrative Supervisor - the RCMP Detachment Clerk is responsible for administrative support, facilitation, and coordination of public communications, customer service and police member services for the Drumheller RCMP Detachment and members of the Town of Drumheller - Community Enforcement Services.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Supporting the general public courteously, and diplomatically both on the telephone and at the Front Counter with respect to a wide variety of complaints, problems and circumstances and relays emergency situations to the appropriate contacts (dispatch if necessary);
- Works collaboratively with RCMP Members and federal staff on a regular basis with respect to the day-to-day operation of the office;
- Summarizes and prioritizes gathered information, relays it correctly to ensure appropriate police response, and accurately records all required information
- Assesses inquiries/complaints and directs to RCMP/Municipal Enforcement or appropriate agency/resource;
- Enters data, maintains and updates appropriate databases to support police functions, including PROS, CPIC and JOIN.
- Initiates and maintains accurate police files by opening, generating and updating computer queries and entries. This includes the entering and removing of highly sensitive information such as Warrants and Conditions;
- Monitors and uploads information, statements, transcriptions, and Court Packages that are required in a timely manner and often are on a high priority time basis;
- Functions as a Court Liaison in attending court sessions and assisting Crown Prosecutor in securing court dates for Criminal, Youth and Traffic court sessions;
- Coordinates all Members, witnesses and information needed for court appearances, including entering and removing warrants for execution for RCMP as well as other provincial agencies;
- Respond to Access to Information requests;
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- A certificate or diploma in office administration, criminal justice, or equivalent experience and education is preferred.
- Three (3) years of office experience, preferable in a highly sensitive or policing work environment
- A proven aptitude for accuracy with written word and data entry
- Knowledge of Criminal Code, Municipal Bylaws, Traffic Safety Act and Provincial Statutes is preferred.
- Proficiency in RCMP software programs is preferred (i.e. PROS, CPIC, JOIN/2.0, CIIDS, eCollision, ROADS) and completion of RCMP PROS End User Course and PROS IM or willingness and ability to become certified upon employ.
- Extraordinary organizational skills
- Knowledge of the RCMP and judicial court and legal systems is highly desirable
- Experience transcribing statements from audio recording or digital media is preferred.
- Confident communicator in highly sensitive or stressful situations and strong conflict management skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to work under mínimal supervision and to tight deadlines
- Valid Alberta Class 5 - Drivers Licence (or equivalent)

**Conditions of Employment**:
Must be able to obtain RCMP Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance

**Employment Category**:Temporary Full-Time

**Hours per Week**:37.5 hours - Monday to Friday

**Pay Scale**:$26.13 to $31.68/ hour based on CUPE 4604 Collective Agreement
