**Chemical Technician**
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Ensure customer satisfaction by understanding customer’s hazardous waste disposal requirements
- Knowledge of waste management legislation & transportation of dangerous goods legislation
- Identify, segregate, classify, consolidate, package, label hazardous and non-hazardous materials for transport
- Bulk and store chemicals within transfer station
- Ensure hazardous waste inventory is correct and that containers are shippable in accordance with legislative requirements
- Accurately complete hazardous waste manifest, bills of lading and associated paperwork
- Operate forklift or other equipment as required
- Comply with all corporate policies, procedures and industry standard
- Ensure compliance with Environmental Compliance Approval requirements
- Perform other duties as required
**Qualifications**
- Post-secondary education in chemical technology or engineering
- Minimum one (1) year experience in hazardous waste industry is an asset
- Clean drivers abstract & G class license
- Must pass criminal records check
- Ability to travel overnight on occasion
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
