**Position**: Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT)

**Location**: Nanaimo, British Columbia

**Type**: Full-Time

**Shifts**: Various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays

**Key Responsibilities:

- ** Assist veterinarians with emergency and critical care procedures**-* Perform triage and initial patient assessments**-* Prepare and administer medications, treatments, and anesthesia**-* Monitor and manage hospitalized patients**-* Operate and maintain medical equipment**-* Educate pet owners on post-treatment care and wellness**-* Maintain accurate patient records

**Qualifications**:

- Currently registered and in good standing with the BCVTA
- Experience in veterinary emergency or critical care an asset but not required
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in anesthesia, radiology, and laboratory procedures
- Availability to work shift work (overnights and weekends)
- Ability to plan, organize and multi-task efficiently
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients and clients
