A.L. Horton Elementary serves approximately 350 students in kindergarten to Grade 6, with 18 teaching staff and 13 support staff. ?The school is located in Vegreville, AB, approximately 90 kilometres east of Sherwood Park, AB.

A.L. Horton Elementary believes the mental, physical, social and emotional well-being of every student is of great importance, and every student should be provided with a secure environment and learning opportunities. Each student is unique and deserves an equal opportunity to develop their talents and potential. A.L. Horton Elementary is a designated Play and Learn at School (PALS) pre-kindergarten site, as well as hosts the Division’s Ukrainian Language and Culture Program.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:
Conferring with students, parents and staff to find the best solutions possible to help students succeed.

Developing innovative and creative strategies to increase student engagement.

Building relationships with students, staff and families to maintain a positive school culture.

Maintaining high visibility and accessibility during the school day, including classroom visitations.

Providing leadership in creating opportunities for teacher collaboration.

Setting, maintaining and modeling high standards of professional conduct.

Leading the development, implementation and assessment of the instructional program.

Supervision, observations and evaluations of staff.

Effective verbal and written communications with a variety of groups and individuals.

**Experience, Training, Requirements**:
Valid Permanent Alberta Teaching Certificate

Minimum five years successful teaching experience

Master’s degree is an asset

Successful administrative experience
