Pharmacy Assistant

For more than 75 years Henderson’s Pharmacy has been providing leading healthcare services in the heart of downtown Thorold. We pride ourselves on our long-standing commitment to the health and wellness of our customers and the overall community.

We are currently looking to hire a **Pharmacy Assistant **to our dispensary team, for either full-time or part-time hours. Key responsibilities for these roles may include a mix of the following, depending on experience:

- Assisting in the day-to-day operation of the dispensary by completing full cycle prescription processing, including entering and renewing prescription orders, required third-party correspondence, and accurately dispensing medication.
- Processing third-party billings.
- Managing data entry and recording keeping within Kroll and related systems as needed to maintain pharmacy files, patient records and medication registries.
- Inventory management of medications and related dispensary supplies.
- Answering phones and assisting patients.
- Pre-packaging medications (including dossette packaging), as needed.

Qualifications:

- Graduate of an approved Pharmacy Assistant program or equivalent an asset.
- At least two (2) years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or related experience.
- Experience with Kroll software or generally strong computer skills an asset.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with pharmaceutical drugs.
- Experience with basic inventory management activities.
- With an affinity for numbers, the ability to follow specific instructions with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with a variety of individuals.
- Organizational and time management skills are important as we are a very busy pharmacy.
- Strong work ethic and positive team-oriented attitude.
