Gardener/horticulturalist

**Job duties**:

- Mulch garden beds
- Create garden beds
- Sodding
- Tree removal
- Planting
- Stone/paver installations
- Mowing
- Operate various power tools such as: trimmers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers, drills, etc.
- Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles, tools and equipment by conducting inspections, performing minor maintenance tasks, and cleaning on a daily basis.
- Complete and submit all required paperwork on a timely basis.
- Work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Work 10-12 hour days and occasional weekends
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times

**Requirements**:

- Excellent time management
- Good communication skills
- Ability to lift and carry 20 kg over short distances unassisted
- Ability to bend, stretch, work in a squatting and kneeling position for long periods of time with lots of opportunity move around
- Ability to work with stamina in a physically demanding environment
- High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
- Criminal Record Check
- Availability on weekends as needed

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$28.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Halifax, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
