The live in Camp Cook is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the camp on a day-to-day basis, including meal preparation/planning, ordering/budgeting of groceries, housekeeping, inventory, and administrative tasks. The Resident Camp Cook will ensure that all service standards are met. The position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, customer service skills, and the ability to respond to a variety of different situations at all times. Housekeeping duties are required. Stripping and making beds, laundering linens, vacuuming, mopping, ensuring washrooms are clean, etc. A helper may be hired if work becomes too much.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum High School Diploma
- Minimum 2 years of related food/hospitality experience in a remote camp environment is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years cooking professionally
- Provincial Food Safe and Standard First Aid with CPR an asset
- Ability to work physically and regularly lift up to 50 lb.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.
- Professional image with good personal hygiene
- Experience with inventory and ordering procedures, and staying within a set budget
- Excellent communication skills in English both written and verbal
- Ability to interact professionally with co-workers.
- Strong focus on safety and quality of work
- Daily hours of work typically 9-14 hours
- Class 5 drivers license needed
