The Registered Practical Nurse Unit Manager (RPN-UM) is responsible to work collaboratively with the interprofessional team, support and demonstrate theMission, Vision and Values of Fiddick’s Nursing Home and making every effort to ensure that the provisions of the Resident Bill of Rights are practiced without exception.

The RPN-UM shall serve as a coach and mentor to all employees of the nursing department, leading by example to inspire and motivate every individual to recognize the value they bring to the lives of the residents and their colleagues as an _Everyday Hero_.

This is a 10 month temporary role that could lead to a permanent opportunity.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education and Experience**
- Registration or eligible for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario considered an asset
- At least 3 years working as a Registered Practical Nurse in long-term care
- At least 1 year in leadership experience in long-term care considered an asset.
- GPA, PIECES training, Fundamentals in Palliative Care, RAI/MDS certification, and CAPCE considered an asset.
- Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices, as well as knowledge in Infection Control Practices.
- Effective human relation skills and demonstrated commitment to working with seniors.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively are essential.
- Excellent team building, communication, and time management skills.
- Familiar with the Ministry of Long-Term Care Standards Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Must demonstrate the skills to effectively lead the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of quality services to the residents and a quality working environment for staff.
- Must demonstrate initiative and the ability to be creative and resourceful.
- Must be flexible and adaptive to change and willing to accept responsibility and accountability for all functions of the nursing department and specifically for their home unit.
- All team members are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months
