If you answered yes, our Whiteshell Laboratories (WL) site located near **Pinawa, Manitoba** is looking for a **Manager, Standpipes, Bunkers and Waste Retrieval Systems (SBWRS) Manufacturing, Testing and Operations**. The SBWRS Project is the first of its kind in Canada - a remote control waste retrieval system that will safely remove intermediate level waste (ILW) from standpipes and bunkers at WL site. The SBWRS is being built and tested in Ontario and is in the final assembly and factory acceptance stage. Once complete the equipment will be shipped to WL site for assembly and use. This will be a joint venture with the fabricator, construction firm and CNL - all working towards making this incredible project a reality The Testing and Operations Manager will be the primary CNL Manager of the project management oversight (PMO) team. The Manager in collaboration with the Director will manage a budget ranging from $20M to $40M. The Manager will draw on their ability to identify issues, project details while utilizing a high-level analysis on strategic matters. The position requires self-discipline, a strong technical background, excellent organizational and time management skills, open mindedness, diplomacy, and unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction with a results-oriented focus. Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) employees perform all duties in accordance with established health and safety and regulations/guidelines, policies and procedures (i.e. utilizing personal protective equipment as per safe work procedures). Notifying management or supervisor of all occurrences, injuries, illnesses or safety and health concerns which are likely to harm themselves, their co-workers or any other on the premises in a timely manner and in accordance with established reporting requirements.

**What will you be doing?**
- Implementing project management including responsibility to plan, control and monitor the execution of all project work.
- Managing the cost, schedule, scope and technical performance of a portfolio as defined in the Performance Baseline.
- Coordinating prompt resolution of field problems and issues regarding safety, non-conformance reports, condition reports, stop work orders, and correct action reports.
- Defining and monitoring daily work packages and progress reports measuring progress against the plan.
- Scheduling and monitoring subcontractors and suppliers to ensure they are delivering to schedule.
- Coordinating and providing progress reporting of project management activities including financial, schedule, communications, procurement, risk and issues through duration of a project.
- Maintaining reports including, site, production, time keeping, daily field work, work package sign offs.
- Ensuring that work is performed safely and in compliance with requirements of the Site License and Facility Authorization.
- Proactively managing the personnel performing the scope of work.
- Providing exceptional reporting and communication on project status, with emphasis on resolving issues and correcting variances to plans.
- Regularly communicating directly with representative of the CNL client (Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd), the regulator (Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission), various other external organizations and the public.
- Initiating and maintaining productive relationships with internal service providers (e;g;, Skilled Trades, Engineering, Radiation Protection, Strategic Planning, Nuclear Facilities, Procurement, and compliance/regulatory programs).
- Holding budget responsibility for work.
- Maintaining confidentiality in all matters.
- Performing other duties as assigned by manager.

**What we are looking for**:

- Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security”.
- University degree in engineering from a university in recognized standing; or other related advanced degree may be considered.
- A Project Management Professional or similar designation is considered an asset.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience in nuclear decommissioning and/or project management including experience leading Project Management teams and /or Project Portfolios.
- Experience in radioactive waste management, preferably in a decommissioning environment.
- Experience and technical background sufficient to lead the planning and execution of nuclear waste retrievals and processing.
