We are currently hiring for a specialty marine broker who can grow with our Atlantic Marine team. We work closely with all segments of the marine industry in Atlantic Canada, namely ferry operators, marine contractors, seafood processors, wholesalers and harvesters, port and terminal operators and many others.

**What the day will look like**:
As part of an Atlantic Canada’s specialty marine team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Marine Industry business group within Aon Risk Solutions.
- Acting as the primary negotiator in acquiring the most appropriate carrier coverage from a variety of insurance carriers.
- Be part of the client facing team, along with Producers and/or Account Executives, who will participate in client discussions to understand needs and develop strategies to address the clients’ needs.
- Identifies and analyses client exposures and figures out markets to apply, ensuring detailed evaluation of qualified companies in the marketplace.
- Provides alternative options and/or design risk transfer/financing products for presentation to the client.
- Develops the ability to articulate structured portfolio solution (SPS) benefits to the client and uses these skills to implement SPS offerings whenever appropriate based on client need.
- Builds, expands, and solidifies relationships with existing clients at senior levels within the company. Ensures operational excellence, including adherence to service management requirements
- Pro-actively develops knowledge of the Aon capabilities in order to identify and develop relevant cross sales opportunities and Aon tools.
- Enjoys developing new client relationships and building upon existing relationships.
- Works and collaborates with Aon leadership to achieve goals. Influences and has exposure to Aon leaders in multiple offices.
- Serves as a source for information concerning market trends, pricing practices and other underwriting policies.

**What the day will look like**:
Analyzes client specific risk exposure and details coverage requirements. Prepares and presents marketing proposals for renewals and new business, including forwarding renewal terms to client for a variety of marine and non-marine insurance covers.
- Respond to client inquiries and process requests for routine changes.
- Negotiates with underwriters to establish the best terms and conditions with respect to premiums and coverage.
- Approves documentation for new contracts, policy changes, additions, deletions and renewals.
- Collaborates with Account Manager to develop coverage strategy and marketing initiatives for renewal and prospective business.

**Skills and experience that will lead to success**:

- Minimum 2 years broker/agency experience is preferable
- CAIB/CIP designation or studying toward completion
- Good MS Office skills including Excel and Power Point
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented, strong time leadership skills, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- A team player that is able to work in a high-volume area
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or similar, preferred.
