Manual Machinist

We are looking for an experienced Manual Machinist for our client located in Pickering. The company is in the business of Metal Production.

**Responsibilities**:

- Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand the specifications of the output.
- Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.
- Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.
- Select appropriate machines (e.g., lathes, drills, mills, surface grind) and position or load material for a job.
- Monitor the machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues.
- Determine and program the size of batches and the speed of the machine.
- Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.

**Requirements**:

- Vocational school or apprenticeship preferred.
- Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Great verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in using and/or setting up manual or semi-automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders, mills, drills, etc.).
- Ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers) to take accurate measurements.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
- Knowledge of metal properties.
- Outstanding mathematical skills and analytical abilities.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items.

**Location**: Pickering

**Pay**: $22 to $26 (depends upon the experience)

**Shift**: 3:30pm to 1:30am (Mon - Thru)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 44 - 50 per week

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Night shift

**Experience**:
