VERBIO Diesel Canada (VDC) is a subsidiary of VERBIO AG, a well-established, successful biofuel company in Germany. VERBIO Diesel Canada Corporation (VDC) invests in a biodiesel and glycerine production facility in Welland, Ontario. VDC will become one of the leading biodiesel producer in North America with an annual capacity of approx. 150,000 tons of biodiesel and 18,000 tons of crude glycerin. VDC strives for technological leadership in the field of production of renewable fuels.

**Position Purpose**

Verbio Diesel Canada is currently recruiting for a Lab Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering quality testing on both incoming raw materials as well as finished product. The technician is knowledgeable in quality management programs. You will provide analytical support, direction, and guidance to maintaining and improving VDC’s quality program.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Sampling and testing of incoming and finished products ensuring all data is accurate and precise
- Performing regularly scheduled lab equipment maintenance and calibration
- Responsible for providing timely accurate feedback on lab results to the VDC operational and quality team
- Assist the Lab Supervisor with training in proper field sampling, quality management program elements and testing techniques
- Ensure operator generated data is both accurate and precise
- Follow all safety policies and help ensure compliance with safety procedures on site
- Maintain a clean work environment and be audit ready all the time

**Qualifications**
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of laboratory experience in a manufacturing related industry or chemical lab is an asset.
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related degree is preferred.
- Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work shift work including weekends
- Ability to work independently managing multiple tasks, setting priorities and meeting deadlines
- Strong communication skills, positive attitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the desire to work in a small team environment
- Experience in the biofuels industry would be considered an asset
