**THE POSITION**
**OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
All Faculty will be involved in the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Providing students with instruction (based upon existing curriculum and adhering to the course outline).
- Creating their course Syllabus based on the course outline
- Reporting class attendance and grading.
- Conducting midterm and final evaluations and feedback for students taught.
- Individual guidance of students where appropriate.
- Punctual and conscientious management of classes.
- Collaboration with Department Chair and faculty on progression of courses.
- Collaboration with administration staff on resources and equipment issues.
- Attendance at departmental meetings (monthly)
- Attendance at full faculty meetings (approximately 6 meetings per year).
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Key Competencies:
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- Piano skills required at a fundamental level to accompany technique exercises in lessons. Basic accompaniment skills desired.
- Ability to engage & demonstrate physically in the learning environment, as well as deliver lecture/seminar content.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the current learning profiles of young adults.
- A working understanding of the current trends and practices in the professional performing arts industry, as well as current trends in CCM and Musical theatre style and technique.
- Flexibility to work weekdays or evening depending on the educational schedule.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Critical thinking and collaboration skills.
- Able to function in a dynamic working environment.
- Excellent communication, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to innovate, and explore professional development on an on-going basis.
- Computer skills, including experience with video conferencing software (i.e. Zoom), and the ability to learn and work in the AmpEducator database software.
Education/Experience:

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Remuneration is built on a tier system, based on the experience and education level of the faculty member. Teaching wage range is $52.02-68.44 per hour.
- All faculty must provide proof of a Criminal Record Check performed within 2 years of hire date, and every subsequent 2 years.
- Schedules are built by the Director of Education & Programming with classes Monday - Friday 8:30am-8:30pm.
