From the start of spring ‘till the end of fall, your outdoor office is guaranteed an amazing view of the Whistler Valley. Then, when winter arrives, whether you ski, board, or snowmobile, you’ll have a few months to recharge and get up the mountain.

Garibaldi Tree is an established tree company with nearly three decades in business servicing Whistler and Pemberton. We offer tree removal, tree trimming and pruning, hedge trimming, tree stump removal, lot clearing, and consulting. We’re a small but robust team of tree care experts, climbing arborists, and groundworkers.

**Position Overview**

A large portion of the duties will include groundwork. Climbing will be on an as needed basis, depending on the project. There will be regular opportunities to learn and gain instruction from experienced climbers.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform safe tree service operations according to project directions and instructions.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as saws, chippers, stump grinders, ladders, pruners, ropes and rigging.
- Safely climb, prune and remove trees using industry-standard techniques.
- Safely operate our chipper truck and other vehicles, as required.
- Evaluate and control hazards to effectively maintain a safe work site.
- Collaborate with an experienced crew to ensure a continuous workflow.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- **At least one year** of experience working in the residential tree care industry.
- An unrestricted Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving history and experience driving chipper trucks.
- Knowledge of trees, shrubs and plants native to our area.
- Knowledge and experience in the safe operation of equipment used in residential tree care, including saws, chippers, stump grinders, ladders, and pruners.
- Knowledge and experience in the safe use of climbing systems - SRT/DRT.
- First aid certification is preferred but not required.

**Other Requirements**
- Must be able to reliably commute to Whistler once the work season begins.
- A positive and team-oriented attitude.
- A growth mindset - you’re not afraid of feedback and love learning.
- The drive to persevere through hard work and variable weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
- Able to continuously move for multiple hours.
- Able to lift, push and pull objects over 50 lbs.
- Comfortable with considerable exposure to the elements such as variable temperatures and loud noises.
- Strong communication skills.

**Salary**: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
