**Job description**

For more than 20 years, Kinbridge Community Association (Kinbridge) has been serving the needs of local residents and their families by providing programs and services aimed at strengthening our community of over 34,000 residents living in south Cambridge, Christopher Champlain and Southwood neighbourhoods. As a grassroots organization, Kinbridge focuses on actively engaging and empowering community through positive relationship building and the facilitation of programs and services that embrace equity, inclusion and diversity for all ages.

The Kinbridge Ball hockey/ Soccer Instructor will program plan, supervise, facilitate, and lead a variety of ball hockey and soccer activities and programming for children ages 4 to 12 years old. Kinbridge Recreation Programs follow the HIGH FIVE quality standards for children’s programs. Kinbridge Ball hockey/Soccer Instructors will provide an engaging and safe environment for all program participants. The following responsibilities and qualifications are required of all applicants.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and guide program participants and volunteers
- Report directly to Kinbridge Recreation Coordinator on a weekly basis
- Manage daily attendance procedures
- Review existing program plans and complete new plans for program
- Must express a caring attitude when working with children
- Distribute and collect program evaluations
- Maintain accurate administrative meeting deadlines
- Ensure proper set up and clean up is completed adhering to COVID-19 mandated protocol
- Attend and actively participate in all training/orientations, staff meetings, and special events
- Other duties as required

**Qualifications**
- **Working on your High School Diploma and or looking for relevant Hockey experience.**:

- Complete a police record check (if over the age of 18)
- Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR C
- HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Childhood Development or Sport Certificate or willing to obtain
- Proven experience working with children
- Proven skills and the ability to take initiative within a group setting
- Proven ability to work with a team and independently
- Proven ability to create a ball hockey program and facilite to children between the ages of 8 and 12.

**Assets for this position include**:

- NCCP Certification in Active Start, Fundamentals, or Learn 2 Train

**Expected start date**: January 15- March 20, 2024 for an 8 week program.
