SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE DESCRIPTION

Scope: The Automation safety technician coordinates with the HSE Manager to provide insight and assist in the development of the site’s safety culture

**Job Duties**:

- Monthly safety audits (such as PPE, housekeeping, etc.)
- Assist in ensuring adequate records are kept on site (ie. safety meeting sign in sheets, training sheets, etc.)
- Raise safety related concerns to the HSE Manager.
- Assisting in roll-out of new or annual programs and help distribute communications to teams.
- Participating in investigations of workplace incidents.
- Manage the safety communication with the IKEA’s safety team
- Other topics as assigned.
- Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and align electrical and mechanical automated system machines.
- Capable of reading and editing electrical, mechanical and layout drawings.
- Preventative maintenance and repair of diverse production equipment.
- Demonstrate experience in a maintenance field with good working experience in mechanical repairs.

**Criteria**:

- Must have a passion or drive to improve the safety on-site for their fellow teammates.
- Be up to date and stay current on learning portal and HR Universe.
- 1 year commitment to the role.
- Must have knowledge of site equipment and be capable of identifying potential hazards associated with it.
- Must have a good working relationship with the on-site team and capable of generating buy-in to the safety culture.
- Good communication skills.
- Eagerness and willingness to learn and grow.

**Training Provided by SSI Schaefer**:

- Basic understanding of the Occupational Safety (Legis Quebec)
