DESCRIPTION
The Safety Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and updating procedures and written plans, safety and environmental training, orientation training, and the completion of specific government reports. The Safety Coordinator will also implement corporate HSE policy and procedures. They will provide support to the project regarding HSE matters to ensure compliance with HSE Policies/Procedures and applicable agency regulations. This position will be based out of our Transmountain Expansion Project office in either Chilliwack or Langley, BC.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Stop work in the area of an identified health or safety problem until resolved.
- Use information management systems to report accurate data, manage and distribute information within the HSEQ department and operating units.
- Maintain HSEQ policies, procedures, standards, forms, and other controlled documents in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and company practices.
- Update HSEQ records including incident and inspection logs, various tracking sheets, and file in SharePoint.
- Assist with project document archives.
- Provide company-wide support with document control including selection of appropriate templates and maintenance of master document and revision log.
- Assist with HSEQ audits.
- Provide support for the development of HSEQ communications and training content.
**REQUIREMENTS**:
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role
- Proficient using Microsoft software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint
DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Document control experience would be considered an asset
- Experience working in the construction industry is preferred.
LANGUAGES
- Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
