Outdoor Instructor

Barefoot Bushcraft is the Niagara regions hottest outdoor education centre.

We see thousands of students each month.

We are seeking multi-disciplinary instructors in the field of primitive skills such as archery, friction fire techniques, Atlatl, and axe throwing with a focus on customer service and integration into our corporate organizational culture.

We are a 100% outdoor facility and you would be outside your entire shift.You must be great working with children, 6-12 years oldYou must have:

- A background in education
- or teaching experience
- Or your ECE
- Some college in education or recreation

You must be reliable, and able to work unsupervised

You are required to wear a high visibility instructors vest (we provide) OR period mountain man style / paleolithic costume if you prefer. Yes, you can work barefoot if you're so inclined.

Clients book on our website and you would be responsible for their programming as well as set-up and tear down of the site. Week days you would mostly be teaching archery, axe throwing, knife throwing, and card throwing.There are a lot of weekend hours available when we have children’s programs running and need extra staffing.We will be happy to train the right person who shows a genuine interest in a career in outdoor education and ancestral/primitive skills.Please take the time to explore our website

If you are contacted by us, we will invite you to spend an afternoon at our facility in Fonthill and see how we operate, if you learn fast and want to teach a couple of lessons, we can observe your teaching style, and you may be able to start right away.

Pay: $20.00/h

Hours: automated on-call Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and Friday with lots of weekend hours available
