Job Details

Bring excitement, enthusiasm and commitment to the delivery of courses in the Business cluster of programs with an emphasis on Accounting courses at Confederation College;
Design/develop and deliver courses, labs and/or workshops;
Actively contribute to and care about student success by engaging students in the classroom and lab environment, in both traditional classroom settings and through distance delivery;
Utilize alternate delivery methods such as video conferencing, online learning and other distributed learning formats and evaluate student progress and achievement using a variety of evaluative tools;
Provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources while incorporating a variety of teaching and learning strategies to ensure learner awareness of curriculum, their academic progression and evaluation of learning;
Contribute to the regular and ongoing development of Accounting and other Business courses, including the selection of appropriate learning resources;
Actively participate as a team member in departmental functions, initiatives and committee work within the School of Business, Hospitality & Media Arts and the College as a whole.

All positions at Confederation College must work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Job Requirements

A CPA designation;
Five years of experience working in public accounting;
A commitment to education equity to teach diverse student populations and work with colleagues or clients from diverse backgrounds; and

Proven ability to excel in a team environment and a demonstrated commitment to life-long learning.

A Master’s degree in Business, Education or a discipline related to business;
The ability to maintain and develop community, industry and government contacts;
Teaching or training experience at the college, university or corporate level

Knowledge of and/or experience working with First Nations, Metis and/or Inuit communities, with a focus on those in the College’s catchment area;
Knowledge of and/or experience teaching or working with International students/colleagues representative of our student population;
Curriculum and program development experience is desirable, including innovative classroom presentation techniques; and

Additional experience in some of the following areas would be an asset:
The successful applicant will be required to submit a criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening prior to commencement of employment.
