**JOB** SUMMARY:* The Academic Lead reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Education Manager. The Education Academic Lead works as a key member of the Education Coordination Office and the Six Nations Lifelong Learning Task Force to support the development of comprehensive recommendations to the community on lifelong learning (education) system and provide ongoing support as required. The Academic Lead works within the policies and procedures established by Six Nations of the Grand River.

$65,000-$75,000

**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS**:

- **Must be knowledgeable about the Six Nations learning environment;**:

- **Must have strong understanding of Six Nations languages and culture;**:

- **Preference will be given to those with experience in the Six Nations community or a First Nation community**:

- Ontario College of Teachers or equivalent designation
- Experience leading research projects within the education sector
- Experience promoting and engaging in academic activities e.g. mentoring/collaboration within and across departments, entities and agencies.
- Understanding of current and emerging trends in education/training.
