**How You Will Make an Impact**
In a compassionate, hospitable and non-judgmental manner the Cook under supervision will be responsible for the preparation and provision of all meals and snacks for the Guests of our Emergency Shelter, Community Hot Meal Program and Catering functions.
Responsible for participating in Good Shepherd's Health and Safety programs, procedures, procedures and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risk to clients, staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd.
**What You'll Bring to Our Team**
- Preferable academic requirement is a 2-year diploma acquired from a recognized Culinary Management/Food Services Program, or equivalent
- Experience in large quantity cooking in a commercial kitchen, be able to plan meals, rotate stock, and utilize donated and purchased foods creatively, nutritiously and attractively
- ** Food Handlers Certification is required**:
- Must be certified or willing to attain certification in CPR
- A valid drivers' license and clean abstract is a necessity for this role
- Fluency in a 2nd language is an asset

**Hours of work**: 80 hours every 2 weeks, weekday's evenings and some weekends
