Janitor/cleaner

**Shifts**:Afternoon Shift (Monday to Friday: 3:00pm - 11:30pm)

**Job Type**: Permanent Full-time

**Probation Wage**: $19.50

**Probation Completion Wage**: $19.93

**One Year Wage**: $21.17

*Pay ranges are dependent on shift and experience

**KEY Responsibilities**:

- Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (or the “Act”) and the regulations; use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that Mott requires to be used or worn; report to the Supervisor the absence or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger themselves or another worker; and report to the Supervisor any contravention of the Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which the worker is aware
- Clean designated facility areas such as offices, hallways, stairwells, cafeterias, kitchens and washrooms (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing and polishing)
- Steam clean carpets
- Clean windows (inside) and other surfaces
- Replenish supplies in cafeterias, kitchen and washrooms
- Empty garbage and recycle bins and put in waste/recycle area
- Clean out and sanitize refrigerators and microwaves
- Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
- Report any defects in equipment, fixtures or building to supervisor
- Stock and maintain cleaning supply room
- Perform minor repairs
- Perform other duties as required

**Skills & Experience**:

- Grade 10 education
- Must be organized
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with WHMIS/GHS
- Ability to handle cleaning equipment and tools
- Physically fit for heavy lifting of >35 lbs
