The **Clubhouse Worker** oversees the programs and services offered to individuals who attend at the Clubhouse with an understanding and belief in the purpose and philosophy of the Clubhouse. The Clubhouse is a community intentionally organized to support individuals living with the effects of mental illness. Through participation, people are given the opportunity to rejoin worlds of friendships, family, work, education, and to access the services and supports they may need. The Clubhouse Worker models self-care, healthy living, competence, self-worth, flexibility, accommodation, and the values of trust and hope. The Clubhouse Worker has insight and awareness into their own strengths and limitations and has an ability to reach out to others both within and outside the clubhouse environment. The Clubhouse Worker follows the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation. The Clubhouse Worker carries out these responsibilities in accordance with the mission, vision and values of CMHA Algoma, relevant legislation and regulations and organizational policies, to promote the delivery of efficient and high-quality services.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Service Engagement, Assessment, Community Relations/Advocacy, General Organizational Responsibilities
- Clubhouse Workers’ specific duties vary based on assigned responsibilities in each of the following areas: Work Units, Employment, Goal Planning, Social Recreation.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education, Certification & Experience**
- **Mandatory**:Completion of a **two-year diploma** or higher in a Human Services related field. Equivalencies will not be accepted.
- Current registration with OCSWSSW or a regulated body under the Regulated Health Professions Act, if eligible
- Mandatory certification in ASIST, and First Aid/CPR and Safe Food Handling (or willing to obtain on own within 3 months)
- Minimum **one-year experience **in the fields of mental health and addictions

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Ability to work in partnership with clients/members
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the mental health and addictions services
- Demonstrated ability to observe boundaries, engage in appropriate emotional regulation, refrain from dual relationship with clients/members
- Extensive knowledge of standardized screening and assessment tools
- Extensive knowledge of community services, supports and resources
- Ability to demonstrate diplomacy and negotiation skills in client/member and system advocacy
- Ability to make sound clinical judgments and to effectively communicate that to others
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and maintain sound relationships within and outside CMHA
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability and flexibility to work independently on a range of tasks within specified time frames and deadlines and to work as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to engage in reasonable self-care strategies that incorporate balancing work/life responsibilities
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills

**Other**
- Acceptable **Police Vulnerable Sector and Criminal Record Check **upon hire and to be maintained throughout employment
- Ability to provide effective client services in English and French, is preferred
- Able to meet the essential physical requirements of the position including ability to move, ascend, descend and position self from floor and back up for prolong periods and may require heavy lifting, reaching and repetitive bending
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle

Expected start date: 2024-04-17

**Salary**: $26.44-$32.79 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
