Burnaby, Canada LITTLE SPARROWS ACADEMY Full time

We are an In-Home Infant and Toddler Childcare program based in Burnaby. We are looking to hire qualified ECE’s with experience in an infant and toddler setting. Additionally, having experience working with children needing extra support OR have experience with SCD is a plus.

Though In-Home, we want to provide quality care to our families. Therefore we also aim to engage in curriculum with our children, being inspired by Reggio Emilia and nature based pedagogy. We are willing to mentor and train successful applicants.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans for children in the early childhood classroom.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow.
- Engage children in educational activities and play to promote their cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Monitor and assess the progress of each child and communicate with parents or guardians about their child's development.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom.

**Requirements**:

- ECE Certificate
- ECE/IT Certificate
- Special education experience or training is HIGHLY preferred.
- First Aid Certificate
- Proven experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting.
- Excellent organizational skills to maintain records, lesson plans, and other necessary documentation.
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal. Bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues.

Starting salary:
ECE/IT- $21 based on current skill and qualifications

Once probation is passed (3 months), wages are negotiable based off of skills shown and experience. We also offer paid professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.
