We are looking for a Studio Operations Manager to join our team.

Who We Are:
PLANT is a studio of architects and landscape architects who specialize in the making of personal and public space. We’ve done a lot of beautiful, weird, and interesting things, and we bring that knowledge to every new project. We create projects with a strong cultural-historical grounding, a sensitivity to the nature of individual sites, and a deep interest in how people live in and experience space.

Our primary areas of specialization include institutional and residential architecture and landscape architecture, adaptive reuse, interiors, urban infrastructure, feasibility studies, and master planning. We also offer a broad range of value-added services that include furniture and lighting design, public facilitation, and integrated graphics.

**Purpose of this Role**

PLANT Architect depends on its Studio Operations Manager to oversee the studio's operations on a day-to-day basis to improve quality in the firm's production and client service.

The Studio Operations Manager will serve as the Partners' representative by leading the organization and managing the studio operations, people and processes. They will lead to ensure that projects are assigned to appropriate teams, flow through the studio without delays and meet client-service expectations.

The Studio Operations Manager promotes a smooth flow of projects by effective: Resource Planning, Project Budgeting, Project Profitability and Progress Monitoring, Process Management, Managerial Decision Support and Workload Balancing.

**Responsibilities**

**Studio**
- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the studio
- Support Partners in coordinating and working across teams to ensure the flow
- Maintains strong awareness of studio’s strategic goals
- Support and advise Partners in operational strategy
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to maximize efficiency
- Partner with team leads to investigate, build and implement best practices, systems and processes
- Lead the studio in ensuring information is created, shared, organized and stored efficiently and appropriately
- Create the physical space for innovation, flexibility, teaching and creativity to flourish
- Evaluate current technology and plan for future system improvements

**Resource Allocation**
- Work with Associates and Partners to manage staffing across the studio
- Support Partners in managing fees and determining project staffing requirements
- Ensure teams and individuals are assigned appropriate projects
- Guide Project leads in solving staffing and scheduling problems

**Project Flow**
- Facilitate improvements in the flow of projects through the studio through consultation and team input
- Facilitate improvements in client service using consulting and team input
- Maintain a strong awareness of the firm's perspective and in-progress projects
- Maintain a strong awareness of key project deadlines and deliverables
- Guide team leaders in developing solutions to project bottlenecks

**Financial Management**
- Review and approve project reports to ensure project profitability
- Manage and monitor the organization's financial resources, including investments, cash flow, and accounts receivable and payable
- Develop and implement strategies and policies to reduce costs and improve the organization's financial performance
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators, such as profitability, liquidity, and financial ratios
- Analyze financial data to identify and address potential risk
- Write and manage client fees and contracts
- Write and manage employee contracts in conjunction with HR

**Required Qualifications**
- 7 - 10 years of experience in a project management or operations function
- Demonstrated ability in project financial management
- Experience in the architectural, engineering or construction industry, ideally with all phases of projects
- Project Management and/or Accounting designation

**Salary**: From $80,000.00 per year
