**Job description**:
**Position Purpose summary**:
Reports to the Lead Cook, the Dietary Aide is an integral member of the food services team.
The Dietary Aide is responsible for food preparation, serving meals, cleaning and sanitation of Dining Room, operating dishwasher in accordance with manufacturers and Alberta Health guidelines.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Performing various food service duties which include, but are not limited to:

- Preparing the service area for food service
- Food Service - ensures regular dining table supplies are well stocked.
- Performs cleaning and sanitizing duties in designated work areas.
- Stocks kitchen and dining areas.
- Preparation and pre-preparation of food items for resident meals.
- Ensuring the kitchen and stock rooms are kept clean and organized according to health and safety regulations
- Performs duties that require simple baking procedures.
- Maintaining a high standard in food preparation and food delivery

**Qualifications and Education requirements**:

- *NOTE: For some jobs, you may be required to provide validated educational documentation._

**Education/Certifications**:

- Applicant must have completed High School.
- Food Safe Handling Certificate.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.

**Experience and Skilled Knowledge**:

- Minimum 1 year experience in an institutional or commercial kitchen.
- Applicant must have knowledge of food preparation, quantities of food and sanitation procedures and must be able to relate well to people and function well under pressure.
- Must practice high standards of cleanliness and sanitization.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards.

**Skills and Capabilities**:

- Must have good communication skills and be able to work in a team setting in a busy kitchen atmosphere.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective organizational, planning and time management skills.
- Able to observe all safety precautions and safe work practices.
- Background check consent
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
