Program Support Worker

This posting is for 1 Hourly position working approximately 20- 35 hours per week.

As a Program Support Worker, you will provide assistance in the planning, organizing and implementation of a blended service continuum of supports, resources, programs and community engagement activities for young children, their parents (including parents to be), caregivers, community, and service providers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide assistance to the Family Resource Network branch in the planning and implementation of community-based programs and supports for children, youth, and adults in several settings
- Promote social inclusion, sense of belonging, and participatory engagement in programs
- Support the integration of the Social Framework and its outcomes into practice
- Organize supplies, materials, and resources in storage areas, including transporting items to off-site locations
- Respond to inquiries about program activities and community information; ensure that all participants and walk-ins receive the required services in a timely way and are treated in a respectful, sensitive manner while maintaining confidentiality
- Provide accurate information to participants and general inquiries about FCS programs and community resources; use discretion and judgement regarding the flow of information, evaluate incoming issues requiring immediate attention and direct to appropriate resource or staff
- Adhere to standards of practice in documentation, ethics, and use of supervision Frequently set up at a number of indoor and outdoor locations requires lifting and maneuvering of materials, equipment and furniture

**Skills and Abilities**
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others in a manner that facilitates decision making and collaboration
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships with parents, caregivers, colleagues, community stakeholders and service providers
- General understanding of brain science, normative child development, adverse early childhood experiences (ACES), ecological perspectives and importance of play in growth and development
- Ability to listen and convey messages in a manner that contributes to clarity and shared understanding Broad based knowledge of community resources

**Qualifications**
- Minimum High School diploma; some post-secondary in a human service field is an asset; related early childhood development field is preferred
- Experience working with young children and families
- Experience in planning, delivering and evaluating programs is an asset Child Care First Aid certification is an asset

**Conditions of Employment**
- Submission of Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record Check
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s license and submission of a 5-year Driver’s Abstract with less than 7 demerits
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including daytime, evenings and weekends Ability to perform physical labour as part of the job duties including lifting 22.5 kg (50 lbs)

Equivalencies of education and experience may be considered.
