**Job Description - Pharmacy Assistant**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Complete all tasks according to policies and standard operating procedures
- Fill variety of prescriptions including blister packs and non-sterile compounds
- Package medications in strips using PACMED machine
- Prepare blister packs for unit dose and multidose
- Maintain and monitor adequate inventory level
- Scan each prescription accurately, package as per the guidelines, deliver them timely.
- Synchronize and collaborates with other team members to ensure medications are dispensed as prescribed and follow up on outstanding issues
- Perform other pharmacy duties as assigned in a priority sequence

**Job Requirements**:

- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Must prioritize work assignments based on urgency
- Must be able to adapt the change in job environment
- Work with mínimal supervision and independently
- Demonstrate problem solving skills and critical thinking skills
- Able to take initiative with positive attitude and accountability
- Recognize liability on the outcomes of service provided
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail
- Ability to work and maneuver quickly and consistently for extended periods of time
- Must follow all corporate regulations, policies and procedures

**Preferred**:

- Exposure to Pharmacy environment (Retail, Hospital or Long-Term Care)
- Pharmacy Technician Diploma from accredited college, but not required

**_This role requires employees to be flexible to work a variety of shifts during the business’ hours of operations, which include occasional weekend shifts and statutory holidays. _**
