Red Seal Powerline Technician Lineman

Oakpark Powerline Services Ltd is currently looking for a Red Seal PLT or Lineman.
**Accountabilities**:
You will be responsible to perform a variety of lineperson’s assignments involved in all aspects of the installation, construction, troubleshooting, repairing, specialized testing, maintenance, and ongoing inspection and maintenance of all overhead and underground distribution, transmission, switching station, substation and streetlight facilities and infrastructure. Experience with live line work utilizing rubber gloves an asset.
This position is considered a safety sensitive position. You will be responsible for personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health & Safety Rules and Regulations.
**Job Requirements**
- Valid First Aid Certificate an asset
- Valid Driver’s License-Class 3 with Air
- Valid Red Seal Trade Certification
- Red Seal Certification an asset - similar qualifications may be considered
- Demonstrated safe work skills and commitment including knowledge of safe work and job planning procedures.
- Strong distribution operation, construction and maintenance knowledge and skills
- Strong customer relations skills and willingness to learn new customer techniques
- Willing and able to perform line construction work activities and work away from home base when required
- Working in an outdoors work environment
**You must also demonstrate**:
- Ability to climb poles, work at heights, and work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time;
- An ability to function well in a crew environment and be able to work independently when needed;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Proven problem resolution skills and the flexibility and ability to adapt to rescheduled assignments.
