**Summary**:
This is a safety-sensitive position that requires completion of pre-employment testing and requires a Class 1 Driver’s License (or equivalent), and a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract to support insurability. Employee is also required to complete an in-house road-test prior to onboarding.

**Key focuses**:
This position is required to perform the following, but not limited to:

- Fill out pre and post trip inspection forms for trucks and trailers and submit to the office
- Driver will have knowledge of the operation, loading and unloading a tilt deck trailer, with knowledge of winch operations
- Responsible for loading vehicles, sea-cans, as well as anything that will be drivable or winched onto the deck
- Driver will be travelling throughout the province of Alberta, with no dedicated line of travel
- Be able to work alone and independently in a safe manner
- Will take direction from your immediate supervisor and take direction from Dispatch
- Ensure truck is properly equipped and in proper working order
- Perform light maintenance when necessary (greasing, changing lights, tire pressure)
- Couple and uncouple to various trailers including vans and decks
- Travel to and from town and site to pick up and deliver materials
- Maintain shipping and loading documents, copy document numbers, PO numbers, and work order numbers onto a FMGOC bill of lading
- Ensure material is secured to the trailer using tie down straps or chains, if a van ensure door is closed
- Complete trailer list at end of shift and call in to dispatch
- Make sure the vehicle is fueled and cleaned at the end of shift
- Perform any related and/or additional duties as assigned

**Knowledge and Skill Requirements**:

- Completion of High School or GED equivalent, or completion of an equivalent program is required at a minimum
- A valid Class 1 Commercial License (or equivalent) is required, along with a satisfactory 5-year Drivers Abstract
- Completion of TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) course and WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) course is required
- A Load Securement course is an asset
- Knowledge and/or experience in using an electronic log system is required but not necessary. Knowledge in MS Office is an asset
- At least 2+ years of truck driving experience in a Logistics, Warehouse/Yard, or Transportation environment is required. Experience with winch trailers will be a definite asset
- Excellent time-management skills
- Good orientation knowledge with ability to read maps, traverse urban environments, and find locations easily
- Competent, courteous and defensive driver who will comply with all driving rules and regulations.
- Knowledge and experience with hand and power tools
- Mechanically inclined with some experience troubleshooting various mechanical issues

This is a full time position located in Edmonton, AB

**Work Schedule**: Monday to Friday schedule; 12 hours per day.
