**The Opportunity**
Under the direction of the Dietary Manager or designate, the Food Service Worker is responsible for the
production of high quality food for the residents of the Pines in a safe and sanitary manner.
**What you will do: What you will need**:
- Assist in serving meals, snacks and beverages while
following residents diets & food preferences and
using proper portion sizes
- Follow proper food handling techniques while
keeping work area clean and uncluttered
- Upkeep kitchen, serveries, dining rooms and food
service equipment including washing dishes, pots
and pans following established procedures
- Stock refrigerators, freezers, serveries and pantry
shelves ensuring proper rotation of inventory,
informing the Cook or manager when items are
depleted
- Food Service Worker certification (6 units at
community college level)
- Successful completion and maintenance of
a food handler training course is required
- Previous food service experience in an
institutional setting is an asset
- Good communication skills and ability to
read, write and follow written instructions in
English
- Completed police record check, including
vulnerable sector screening
**What we are offering**
This is a permanent part-time opportunity at the District. The hourly compensation range for this role is
