**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Manager of Fixed and Mobile Equipment Maintenance, the Plant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the planning, scheduling and supervision of plant maintenance repairs of 10+ ready-mix plants, with a team of 7+ millwrights/technicians and third-party vendors, to ensure maximum plant availability, proper maintenance attainment and maintenance cost. This position contributes to the overall efficiency and productivity of our ready-mix operations through effective preventative and corrective maintenance programs.**Responsibilities: *
- Ensure Environmental and Health & Safety standards are met by promoting and supporting company programs, policies and practices; ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained; conducting workplace inspections, incident investigation, safe work training; providing supporting documentation and reporting as required.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean work environment in all sites/yards.
- Ensure all plants are in a safe operational state.
- Co-ordinate and monitor preventative maintenance, major repairs, daily running repair issues and maintain the availability by scheduling repairs in accordance with established budget and production demands.
- Monitor the work activities of all direct-reports under his/her supervision by daily communication and on site visits.
- Work balance, planning and directing daily work and when required, afternoon/evening/night shift’s work coordinated with operations.
- Weekly/Monthly/Bi-annual/Annual maintenance cycles, including annual plant shutdowns
- Maintain direct reports performance objectives through providing direction, support and disciplining of employees, answering grievances, planning, monitoring and appraising performance objectives including determining and complying with assigned personnel training needs.
- Complies with Federal, Provincial and Local Legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Ensures proper administration/interpretation of Collective Bargaining Agreements through reviewing and gaining a clear understanding of the collective agreements, and promoting positive working conditions and team spirit within the Operations, Dispatch, Quality and Maintenance teams, addressing grievances.
- Communicates daily with central dispatch to ensure plant equipment is available as required and when required, to handle planned workload.
- Provides coverage for other supervisors if/when required.
- Assists in preparation of 5-year plan, annual budgeting and capital expenditures.
- Working with the procurement team to ensure all supplies, parts and materials are available when and where required.
- Any other jobs requested by manager.

**Requirements: *
- High school diploma or equivalent experience in relevant field(s) required including previous leadership experience with strong organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Ability to analyze maintenance problems quickly and make prompt, sound decisions using good judgement.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal & written).
- Sound knowledge of OH&S policies, procedures and regulations.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting ability.
- Sound knowledge of operating processes and procedures.
- Self motivated and able to work equally alone and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Millwright’s license OR Technical education ie. Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field an asset.
- Previous supervisory experience in a unionized environment an asset.
- Computer proficiency, SAP and Microsoft tools an asset.
