**Job Title**: Midnight Dock Supervisor

**Reports to**: Terminal Manager

**Job Type: Full Time - 11:00pm to 7:30am**

**Responsibilities and Duties**:
Ø Follow the directives and assist the Terminal Manager in achieving the goals and objectives.

Ø Provide leadership, instruction and direction to the Docks, Dispatch and Retails teams thereby assisting them in establishing and realizing the department goals and objectives.

Ø Set standards of performance for all subordinates and train them in the company policies and procedures.

Ø Direct and supervise activities of operations to achieve performance standards for quantity and quality of work produced.

Ø Implement and maintain company policies and procedures for the department.

Ø Maintain employee morale through effective communication and regular meetings.

Ø Check all reports prepared by subordinates for accuracy and completeness.

Ø Establish and maintain a cooperative relationship with all other departments of the company.

Ø Enforce and monitor security standards and procedures.

Ø Seek out and research opportunities to improve methods, processes, procedures, and equipment.

Ø Review all disciplinary cases and ensure that actions are taken to rectify human resource problems with the collaboration of Human Resources.

Ø Complete any additional assignments or tasks as directed or requested by the Terminal manager.

Ø Meeting or exceeding the departmental goals and objectives as set by the Terminal Manager in accordance with the QRC Logistics (1978) Ltd. Business plan.

Ø All operations costs are kept within budget.

Ø Quality control measures and implemented and maintained effectively.

Ø Department turnover is low and employee satisfaction and productivity levels are high.

Ø Interaction and cooperation with other departments continually improves.

**Job Specifications (Knowledge, skills and abilities)**:

- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a leadership role preferably in Transportation
- Effective communicator, calm and supportive in stressful situations
- Excellent understanding of warehouse operations and cost structures
- knowledge of applicable health and safety standards
- Superior planning and organizational skills; ability to multi-task in a busy environment
- Adept at problem solving, conflict resolution and implementing effective solutions
- Flexible and creative in overcoming new challenges on a regular basis
- Computers: must have experience in Microsoft Word and Excel, with a general knowledge of computer software and hardware **Standards of performance**:

**Education**: Highschool or Post-Secondary

**Experience**:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a relatable role and environment
