Wage: $25.00-$32.00 per hour - starting rate commensurate with experience, with full benefits (life, health, dental, RRSP) after probation period.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of an overhead crane inspector include the routine maintenance and repair of cranes according to industry safety guidelines and regulations. Your responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical problems, ordering parts, performing repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance and load certification tests. You inspect operating mechanisms, control systems, braking systems, hydraulic and pneumatic components, electrical equipment, and more. Other duties include installing new parts, preparing repair reports and other required documentation, assisting management with field walk-throughs, and answering customer calls. You are expected to verify that all crane equipment is functioning correctly while meeting OHSA safety standards and any local requirements to ensure project safety. Intermittent on-call required.
- Operates hoist to lower and raise instruments and tools in well, observing signals of engineering personnel.
- Tend auxiliary equipment, such as jacks, slings, cables, or stop blocks, to facilitate moving items or materials for further processing.
- Observe equipment gauges and indicators
- Attach, fasten, and disconnect cables or lines to loads, materials, and equipment, using hand tools.
- Connect cables or electrical lines.
- Monitor equipment gauges or displays to ensure proper operation.
- Ability to detect mechanical and operational defects in hoist equipment.
- Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in operating hoists.
- Valid Hoist Operator Certification or trade certificate or combination of skill and experience is desired.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to develop skill in the operation of the equipment involved in the work.
- Previous construction and hoist experience.
- Ability to understand and execute oral instructions.
- Physical strength and agility sufficient to lift to 50 lbs.
- You will be required to adhere to all on-site COVID safety requirements.
